PROJ 2: Materiality of SPACE         An Experiential Exploration

For the final project of building materials, in a group of 5, we were required to select either a commercial or residential building in which it must be 2-storey and consists of more or less 15 materials. 

We were then asked to produce 3 A2 boards for group work and an 1 A2 board for individual part. The 3 A2 board must consists of a mood baord, where the other two should include plan, elevation, section, concept/context and materials used in the building chosen. Whereas the individual component is a space analysis where each of us should write about the design concept, how the material selection and its application within the space affects user's experience, and last but not least photographs of the selected space. 

My group have decided on choosing one of our friend's house which is located in setia eco park as it consists of many materials which meets the requirements/purpose of this project. 

REFLECTION:

From this project, I have learnt to produce a complete documentation and analysis of materials in respect to physical and chemical properties and also identify the various types of building materials (finishes and structural). Furthurmore, I have developed furthur understanding in the effects of building materials on aesthetics and structural qualities of a space or building.
