PROJ 2: Elderly Center
For the second project, it calls for a design of an elderly center in a suburban area with some complexity that includes the complexity of site topography, vegetation, and socio-cultural events. Students are required to provide full design proposal incorporating precedent study and site analysis at appropriate level of presentation. It explores design solution that harness environmental qualities and conditions for human and environment sustainability. Students will be able to explore design solutions which reduce environmental impact with the utilization of clustered spatial typology and passive energy. The design proposed should also contribute to and merge harmoniously with the nature and site, and provide the best of experiences for the users.
The center for the elderly designed should follow the building's set back requirements which are 3m on the sides and back of the building and 6m at the front. The building height should be at least 2 storeys and maximum 3 storeys high with approximately 800sqm floor area. The facilities provided should include:

Other than that, vehicular, public and occupant access should also be taken into consideration where it should be disabled friendly.
The project is broken down into 3 parts, which is the group site analysis, interim, and the final design presentation. For the group site analysis, we are grouped according to our tutorial groups to carry out the site analysis which is located at Taman Kanagapuram, the final outcome is then compiled into an A0 sized board.
