PROJ 1: ' Journey of the 5 senses' 

For the first project, we are required to form a group of 5 and carry out precedent study followed by designing a poetic space themed for 'journey of the 5 senses'.

We are asked to select 2 precedents for analysis, which can be local,national, or/and international examples. One of the precedent selected must be of pre-modern movement and the other being contemporary. Also, one must be linear whereas the other concentric. The elements and poetics have the precedents have been analysed thoroughly and our findings have been compiled into 8 A3 boards which are attached below.

As for the second part of the project, we are asked to design 2 poetic walkways based on the literature/poetic/ lyric given by our tutor, where one of the walkway must be linear and the other centric. The literature, poem and lyric given by us are The Pinnochio, The dog has died, and I dreamed a dream by Les Miserables. My group and I have decided to design a linear walkway based on the lyric 'I dream a dream' by Les Miserables and a centric walkway based on the poem 'A dog has died'.

REFLECTION

From this project, I have learned to carry out precedents and apply my understandings to the subsequent project. Furthermore, I am also able to design and capture translation of the poetry and lyric into architecture.
