PROJ 1: Skeleton Construction (Temporary Bus Shelter)

In this project, we are required to form a group of 5 or 6 people and construct a temporary bus shelter based on a few specifications, which are, the form should be the combinations of 2 geometry as given and he construction must demonstrate the knowledge of skeleton frame and its joints, and should be elevated 50mm off the ground. The temporary bus shelter that we construct are also in the scale of 1:5 where accomodation of up to 5-6 people is considered.

My team and I have decided to combine both hexagonal and triangular prism together which create a portable and easily assembled bus shelter. Many considerations have also been carefully thought of before the final design is confirmed. Further details and construction method have been recorded clearly with visuals in the report provided below.

REFLECTION

From this project, I have learned how a skeletal frame and its joints works by applying the knowledge to an actual construction and design. Other than that, I also learned how different materials can directly affect the functionality of a shelter.
